The Bijeljina Regional Chamber of Commerce operates in the cities of Bijeljina and Zvornik, as well as 10 other municipalities in northeastern Bosnia. These are border areas of the Republika Srpska, bounded by the Drina and Sava rivers towards the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Croatia. The total area of operation covers 3,468 square kilometers and is home to approximately 260,000 residents.
The Bijeljina Chamber of Commerce region boasts a favorable geographic position in terms of transportation communications. Major roads connect Bijeljina to Banja Luka and Sarajevo, and the proximity to the borders with Serbia and Croatia provides quick access to the European highway network. Currently, the Bijeljina-Rača highway section is under construction, which will be part of the future highways Banja Luka-Bijeljina-Belgrade and Belgrade-Sarajevo. The area under the Bijeljina Chamber of Commerce also has a dense network of regional and local roads, and through Zvornik, the area is connected by railway. There are also projects for the development of water transport on the Sava River, which include the construction of a port in Rača.
The total area of the Bijeljina region is 3,468 square kilometers. It is divided into:
- Agricultural land covering 1,507 km²,
- Forests covering 1,778 km²,
- Construction land covering 183 km².
